Collapse Special Needs Trusts (Mechanicsburg, Simulcasts, Live Webcast)

A Special Needs Trust is a specialized trust made for the benefit of someone with a disability, enabling them to have assets held in trust for them. If properly drafted, those assets are not considered countable assets for purposes of determining eligibility for certain government benefits programs. These trusts are used frequently in personal injury case settlements providing for additional lifetime care over and above the basic government benefits that might be available. In estate planning, these trusts are often incorporated into plans providing care for family members without risking the loss of benefits for which they are eligible.
